CLEAN WATER WAVE IS A REFLECTION ON HOW PASSIONATELY WE FEEL ABOUT OUR WORK
Clean Water Wave is a community interest company with three founding directors who have decades of water-related R&D, innovation and community engagement under their belts.
We are a strong team with years of technical, operations, and strategy experience – as well as an extensive international network in water and sanitation (WATSAN).
Our breakthrough sustainable system – the CAFE water treatment system – means we can work with rural and peri-urban communities, in any geography, to transform their polluted ground and surface water.
Let’s get this wave rolling! We want to collaborate with NGOs and enterprise organisations to bring about a step change in rural drinking water treatment, creating jobs and instigating more social enterprises at the same time.
We want to work with like-minded people in NGOs or local social enterprises in low-income countries. Working in collaboration, we will install a CAFE system, undertake training with the community and set up a local social enterprise to sell clean, safe water at locally affordable rates. We will recoup our costs and use these funds to set up our next CAFE social enterprise and the local social enterprise can reinvest in its own community and environmental projects.
Together, we can keep a clean water wave rolling around the globe.
We are pleased to have won grant support from Climate KIC, the EU’s main initiative for climate innovation. Climate-KIC Accelerator is a programme for start-ups like us that have climate impact & cleantech commercialisation at the heart of their business. The Accelerator programme we are on is based at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation (ECCI), which is part of the University of Edinburgh.
